GCI Virtual Summit Thought Leader – Professor David Neubauer, University Children’s Hospital Ljubljana

David Neubauer is full-professor in Paediatrics and a Child Neurologist. He is working at the University of Ljubljana, Medical Faculty at University Medical Centre Ljubljana, Division of Paediatrics, Department of Child, Adolescent & Developmental Neurology where he was previously also the Head for 20 years. He is also regularly a visiting Consultant at the Ministry of Health in Kuwait and Bahrain.
In his professional career he has been practicing in the fields of Neonatal Neurology & Neurophysiology, Rare diseases, Cerebral palsy, Sleep-disturbed breathing and Ethics in Slovenia, as well as abroad (France and UK). He has written more than 350 scientific peer-reviewed and SCI papers and has been for nearly ten years the Chair of the Working Group of Ethics at European Academy of Paediatrics (EAP), Paediatric section of UEMS. His recent interest is in taking a critical view on paediatric drug development issues, as well as in the field of cannabinoids – especially examining comparisons of the one-molecular cannabinoids with natural ones (full-spectrum), and with the aim to advance knowledge on cannabis, cannabinoids, the endocannabinoid system.
He has recently been involved in projects related to the therapeutic potential of medicinal cannabis products in children with neuro-developmental problems (44 items published so far). He has received award from the Slovenian Paediatric Association for his contribution to the scientific field of Paediatrics. He is the Director of the NGO-Foundation of Child Neurology, Slovenia.
