Check out his bio below:
After obtaining a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Grand Valley State University and becoming a registered nurse (RN), Stephen Parker worked in a high acuity neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) before returning to school to complete a Master’s of Science in Nursing (MSN) with Anesthesia Specialty Certification from Gannon University. During his practice as a board certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA), he extensively employed ketamine in various forms for anesthetic delivery. During this time, he again returned to school to earn a Doctorate of Anesthesia Practice (DrAP) degree from the University of Michigan-Flint. Currently, Stephen is the only doctorate-trained CRNA in West Michigan and one of very few in the region.
In addition to being a doctorate-trained anesthesia provider, Stephen is an active anesthesia clinician/researcher with expertise in pediatric emergence delirium and pain management, Ketamine administration and therapies (including pain management, psychiatric applications, and anesthesia utilization), and opioid-free anesthetic techniques, including opioid-free total intravenous anesthesia (TIVA). He is also a member in good standing of the American Society of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA), Society for Opioid-Free Anesthesia (SOFA), and the American Society of Ketamine Physicians, Psychotherapists and Practitioners (ASKP3).
